Snail and grass

Today only two photos: a very small snail that took off after the rain and some grass.

Zuiko 70-300mm and Raynox DCR-250

Some technical information about using Zuiko 70-300mm with Raynox DCR-250. Skip if you want only photos. :)

All tests on manual focus. Smallest focus distance: 110-130 mm from the Raynox. Should suffice. Largest object that could be photographed: 30 mm. Magnifications and maximum object sizes:

1. Focus at infinity
focal lenghtframe widthmagnification
70mm30 mm0,57x
100mm20 mm0,8x
150mm15 mm1,1x
200mm10 mm1,7x
300mm7 mm2,4x

DOF at 200-300 is very, very, very small even at f22.

One of the first acceptable photos I took with it (ISO400, cropped):

Meadow and dandelions

Today the weather was great, so I took some photos in my neighborhood.

Meadow. It's converted from ORF (Olympus RAW file) in Raw Therapee.

A church very, very far away. Zuiko 30-700mm lens are quite handy. You could see the waving of the air - it's VERY hot today.

Dandelions almost in sepia...

First test with new camera

Harnet eye, flower and cross-spider. First photos I took with Olympus E-520. The DOF (depth of field) is much smaller than on my old Fuji, so I need to close the aperture and it's harder to light the insect properly. So those are only test. All photos were taken with ZD 30-700mm and Raynox DCR-250.
